The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In or ICERT) is an office within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Government of India. It serves as the nodal agency to deal with Cybersecurity incidents, strengthening the security-related defense of the Indian Internet domain.
CERT-In, an acronym for 'Indian Computer Emergency Response Team', is the National Incident Response Centre for major computer security incidents in its constituency, i.e., The Indian cyber community. It was formed in 2004 under the Information Technology Act, 2000 Section (70B).
Its primary role is to raise security awareness and provide technical assistance to recover from incidents. It identifies trends in intruder activity, collaborates with global institutions, and shares best practices through advisories and guidelines.

In December 2013, CERT-In reported a rise in cyber attacks on critical sectors like banking, finance, oil and gas, and emergency services, issuing security guidelines to all vital departments.
On 21 February 2017, CERT-In launched the Cyber Swachhta Kendra (Botnet Cleaning and Malware Analysis Centre) to provide timely malware/botnet threat information and free cleaning tools for citizens and organizations.
In September 2022, CERT-In hosted exercise "Synergy" with participation from 13 countries as part of the International Counter Ransomware Initiative-Resilience.
